The news has been confirmed that the Season 3 of the anthology, True Detective is going to move forward with HBO. Niz Pizzolatto will be the only lone writer for this reason. The fourth episode, however, has been co-written with David Milch. The exact number of episodes for this season has not yet been revealed.
Pizzolatto is the creator of the series and will also execute the responsibilities as a show runner. He is going to carry out the direction along with Jeremy Saulnier who is a newcomer.
The executive producers for this show are Pizzolatto, Scott Stephens, Saulnier and stars from season one, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson and Cary Joji Fukunga, the original director. In addition to this, Richard Brown, Bard Dorros and Steve Golin will also be given credit as the executive producers.
The third season is going to describe the story of a ruthless crime in the middle of Ozarks. A mystery is going to get deepened over the years and is going to play in 3 different time periods.
The Oscar winner actor, Mahershala Ali will be playing the character of Wayne Hays who is going to be a state police detective hailing from Northwest Arkansas. On Thursday, Pizzolatto said in a statement that he is really thrilled to work with talented artists like Jeremy and Mahershala. He said that he hopes that the script is able to do justice to their talents and everyone is really excited about the story.
HBO had refrained from moving ahead with the third season until and unless Pizzolatto was unable to find another director to work with. HBO president, Casey Bloys said that the scripts of the show that are written by Nic are truly remarkable and they are really excited to embark upon the third instalment of True Detective.
